Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taiwan Intercity Railway connects Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Taizhou. The railway is a fast way to connect Hangzhou metropolitan area and Wenzhou-Taizhou coastal city group in Zhejiang Province, an important part of the inter city rail transit network in the Yangtze River Delta region, and a part of the National Coastal Railway Rapid Passenger Transport Channel, and the first High-speed Railway PPP Project controlled by private capital in China. It was selected into the 13th Five Year Plan Outline of Zhejiang Province and the National Social Capital List of Investment Railway Demonstration Projects.
