Kunming-Bangkok International Highway is 1880 kilometers long, starting from Kunming toll station at the entrance of Kunming-Yuxi Expressway in the East and ending in Bangkok, Thailand. The whole line is composed of sections in China, Laos and Thailand. It was officially opened to traffic in December, 2008. On December 11, 2013, the Houayxay Bridge connecting Houayxay, Laos and Chiang Khong, Thailand was officially opened.Kunming-Bangkok Highway is the first international expressway in China and a section of the Asian Highway Network numbered AH3. It is jointly constructed by China, Laos, Thailand and the Asian Development Bank.
